For the first time in a long while, I’ve created a new mandala design. Titled Hours, this piece is notable for the segments of twelve on the interior of the circle, and then the sixty block segments making up the outer rim.
I’ve been inspired to create mandalas again this summer. While I’ve already finished this design, entitled “Hours”, I wanted to share some of my WIP pics from earlier in the process.
Since this past May, I’ve been carrying around a small notepad as well as something to draw with, be it a pencil, pen, or marker. Nearly every day I draw within it, creating small square tiles with different designs in each one.
It’s a brand new year, and it’s the start of a brand new art project. Take a look at these WIP images of my latest hand-drawn tessellation design.

Between ending an old job, starting a new evening job, and preparing for Thanksgiving, there hasn’t been much time to spend to work on my art this week. However, I’ve tried to make sure that I get in at least a few minutes in every day with my drawing.

Earlier this week, I created my second ATC card. This one, “Two Islands”, was designed while in a far better mindset than I was when I created “Infiltration”.
Way back in May, I created my very first ATC card. However, this design came to me during a dark period in my life this year.
ATCs hold a very special place in my creative heart. They epitomize the concept of “good things come in small packages.”
Over the course of a very busy October, I got re-inspired by one of my favorite artists of all times, M. C. Escher. “Effervescent” is the product of his inspiration.
