Horizon Mandala – The first of a series

"Horizon Mandala" - black and white abstract art by Christina-Rivera Scott

Title:  Horizon Mandala
Dimensions:  9″x9″
Materials:  Pigma Micron Pens; Canson Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper

———-

The first of a series of abstract line art, Horizon Mandala was the first real piece of fine art I had created by hand in years.

The 7″ circular design was drawn using several black Pigma Micron pens on a 9″x12″ piece of watercolor paper that was trimmed to a 9″x9″ square prior to being framed.
One of the aspects about this image that I really enjoy seeing is the balance between chaos and order within the confines of the circle. The upper half of the image is reminiscent of a sun rising over a sloping hill, hence the title.
